Land Patent to James Frye 15 Feb 1828 in Marion Co Mo for 80 acres.
Hank Adams had John as the 3rd son, James 5th. I have reversed them according to the provisions of their father's Will. James had received his inheritance; John mentioned along with "younger" children. James also married 4 years earlier than John.

Elizabeth Becket's mother may have been a Fry.

James FRY and Elizabeth BECKET were married on 3 February 1828 in Marion County, Missouri.141 Elizabeth BECKET was born in 1808 in Kentucky. She died between probably 1870 and 1880 at the age of 62 in Knox County, Missouri.

In an 1840 Marion County, Missouri intestate probate record for John Beckett, who died without issue, one of the listed sibling heirs is "Elizabeth Fry wife of James Fry." The Marion County marriage index lists an 03 February 1828 marriage for James Frye (sic) and Elizabeth Beckett, and the family is enumerated in the 1830 and 1840 Marion County census.

Hatcher Clerk of the County Court within & for Marion County aforesaid, Nancy Beckett, mother of John Beckett dec’d, who makes application for letters of administration on the estate of the said John Beckett, and makes oath that the said John died intestate and left the following heirs, to wit: Nancy Beckett his mother, Robert Beckett, Sam’l Beckett, Elizabeth Fry wife of James Fry, William Beckett, Sarah Beckett, Eliza Jane & Nancy Lear children of Nancy Lear dec’d formerly Nancy Beckett in Marion County, and Polly Jones formerly Polly Beckett of Lewis County, MO, Jane Brown formerly Jane Beckett of the State of Illinois, and James F. Beckett of the State of Indiana, - that she will make a perfect inventory of and faithfully administer all the estate of the dec’d & pay the debts as far as the assets will extend & the law directs and account for and pay all assets which shall come to her possession or knowledge. My ggg grandfather was Montillion Fry and thanks to your web site I found out he is the son of James Fry and Elizabeth Becket. My ggg grandfather was born on Dec 31, 1828 and on Dec 3, 1850 was married to Rhoda Elizabeth Standiford in Knox Co, MO He later enlisted in the Civil War and died (we do not know how) and is buried in Little Rock, Arkansas. I have information on Montillion and Rhoda's children and later generations if you are interested. Thank you so much for helping me find my ancestors.
