104. Ada Isibelle DENNIS was born on 28 February 1877 in Jackson County, Tennessee.^21,24 She died on 20 July 1947 at the age of 70. She was buried at Burris Cemetery in Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee.⁵¹

But then there is also an Ada Dennis Bean who married George R. Bean - they are buried in the Burris cemetery where Isibelle's parents and sister Minda are buried. Ada Dennis Bean was born 1878, died 1947. A family tree on Ancestry seemed to have been posted by a descendant.

Ada Isibelle DENNIS and George Robert BEAN were married on 29 August 1894 in Jackson County, Tennessee. George Robert BEAN, son of Ezekiel BEEN and Lucinda JEFFERIES, was born on 13 April 1876. He died on 30 January 1957 at the age of 80.

168	iv.	James Thomas BEAN was born on 24 November 1900 in Tennessee. He died on 20 February 1992 at the age of 91. He was buried at Smyrna Cemetery in Cookeville, Putnam County, Tennessee. Married Minnie A. Gaw (8 Aug 1895 - 28 Jul 1974) Find A Grave Memorial# 64490362 Tom got his nickname, "Black Tom" because he had black hair. He had an uncle, William Thomas Bean, who apparently also went by Tom, and his hair was red. So he was called "Black Tom" so as to differentiate from his red-headed uncle. His uncle was nicknamed "Red Tom". Tom was a no-nonsense type of man for the most part. He did enjoy teasing people occasionally and when I was a child and visited him and my grandmother, he would wake me up by poking me with his cane. I'm still not sure if he just thought I should get up or if he was just happy we were there, but he always seemed happy when he did it. Tom was a very hard working farmer and believed everyone should work and be honest. He had little tolerance for lazy folks or thieves and would not be shy about letting you know about it. He worked very hard all his life farming but in spite of the hard work had little, like most folks of his time and community. For a time he went to Detroit, Michigan to work; he also worked for a time in Dayton, Ohio, at Siebenthaler's Nursery. In the days of the depression many from the community traveled north for work of any kind. He also worked at TTU, or Tennessee Polytechnic as it was called then. He was a custodian there. He had a sharp wit and lived alone for many years after the death of his wife. He looked forward to the van that would pick him up along with other seniors to take him to the grocery or doctor - he enjoyed socializing with the others. He was a very strong man. As an elderly man he caught himself on fire while burning trash. He lived in a hollow and a passerby saw the fire. He lost parts of some fingers and had a lot of severe burns. For a man of such advanced years it still amazes me that he survived it. He was made of strong stock. He and my grandmother had a good partnership from all the accounts from his children. My father and his siblings that I asked said they could not remember their parents ever quarreling in front of them. I don't recall ever seeing him dressed in anything other than his bib overalls. 169	v.	Otha Cook BEAN was born on 12 May 1903 in Tennessee. He died on 3 July 1987 at the age of 84.⁵² He was buried at Smyrna Cemetery in Cookeville, Putnam County, Tennessee. Wife was Mattie J. Maxwell (28 Feb 1909 - 24 Jul 1979), daughter of James G. Maxwell and Pearlie Henley. They were married 20 Aug 1928, Overton, TN Otha Bean Cookeville Funeral services for Otha C. Bena, 84, of Cookeville were today, July 6, at 2 pm in the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home with burial in Smyrna Cemetery. Mr. Bean died Friday (July 3, 1987) in Masters Health Care Center after suffering from an extended illness. A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late George and Ada Dennis Bean. Mr. Bean was a farmer. His family includes two sons, Freddie and Charles Bean, both of Cookeville; one sister Mae Alexandra of Cookeville; one brother Tom Bean of Cookeville and two grandchildren. Mr. Bean was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Jean Bean. Pallbearers were Bob Bean, Bill Holloway, Ben Chaffin, John Allen, Elmer Roberts, and Jerry Rector. Bro. Clarence DeLoach officiated.

She is buried with a daughter, Linda Fay, (b. 6 Nov 1939, died five days later on 11 Nov 1939) Vola Holloway Cookeville- Funeral services for Mrs. Vola F. Holloway, of 357 Highland St. Cookeville, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home. Mrs. Holloway was dead on arrival at Cookeville General Hospital on Friday (Feb, 3, 1984). She was 87. Burial will be in Burris Cemeteyt in Jackson County. Officiating at today's services will be the Rev. Charles Crain. Mrs Holloway was a native of Tennessee, daughter of the late George Robert and Ada Bell Dennis Bean. Her family includes a son, Billy G. Holloway, of the Hanging Limb community; three grandchildrenm Nancy, Chris and Beth Ann Holloway; two brothers Tom Bean of Cookeville and Otha Bean of Algood; and a sister Mrs. Mae Alexander of Cookeville.
