Polly BROOKS and Ibzan RICE were married on 8 December 1818 in Caswell County, North Carolina.26 Ibzan RICE, son of Hezekiah RICE and Mary BULLOCK, was born circa 1768 in Caswell County, North Carolina. He died in 1847 at the age of 79 in Caswell County, North Carolina.

Richard Jones was the Administrator for the estate of Ibzan Rice Senr. His bond for $8000 was secured by A. A. Pattillo, John H. Brooks, and Goodwin Evans, dated 5 Jan 1847. A second bond, dated 24 Nov 1847, made Richard Jones Special Administrator for the amount of $10,000. Secured by John C. Tatton, Abisha Sladen and John Johnston.

He died possessed of a tract of 340 acres on the waters of Moon Creek and County Line and a lot in the twon of Yanceyville. Children, heirs at law, were Elizabeth married Richard C. Stubblefield, Martha married Dennis Wilson, Fanny married Andrew Willis, Ibzan Rice Junr, Dolly Watlington, Amanda Rice, Louisa Rice, Hezekiah Rich and C. R. Rice, nine in number.
