College, Fordyce, older person with knowledge of the birth, made affidavit, 13 Feb 1942.

In 1930, Elizabeth Holderness is found in Pulaski Co, AR, in Little Rock. Living with her is son A. Sidney. They were renting. Her age given as 55, his as 25. He was working as an insurance adjustor.

Married Mary Elizabeth Crockett. One son, Algernon Sidney Holderness, Jr. born 31 Mar 1939.

Algernon Sidney HOLDERNESS and Mary Elizabeth CROCKETT were married about 1936. Mary Elizabeth CROCKETT, daughter of John W. CROCKETT and Lillian Sutcliffe ALLEN, was born on 19 March 1909.¹⁸⁷ She died on 18 August 1997 at the age of 88 in Wayne, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.¹⁸⁷

The obituary of her son Algernon Sidney Holderness Jr. makes claim that he was a descendant of Davy Crockett. Would be interesting to pursue the research to see if such is true.

In 1930, Algernon Sidney lived in Little Rock Pulaski Co, AR. I also found in the same city: Lillian A. Crockett, age 47, and she had a daughter Mary E., age 21. Lillian was a widow, married at 19. She was born AR, her father b. Ireland, her mother b. Mississippi. She was working as a Bookkeeper for the State Treasurer. Milton Allen, age 60, a Negro, was a Renter, a Janitor at the State Capitol.

Here is a Crocketr in 1900 with the right wife to be Mary B. above - the problem is that when I find Robert & Mary B. in 1870 with a son John. W., he is some 10 years older.

So far, in 1850, the only Robert Crockett I've found close to this age was a Robert M. Crockett in the household of Catherine Crockett age 49, in Montgomery Co, TN. Robert M. was age 16. There was another boy, William W. T., age 14; all born in TN. Next door was a J. W. Crockett, age 31, and his wife Mary, with five children.
Also in Montgomery Co, TN was a Wm Crockett, age 72, b. SC, living with W. O. Williams & wife Dolly. And the family of Leftridge Crockett, age 32 and his wife Huldah and their six children - the whole family b. TN
This family does not tie into the family of Davy Crockett in anyway that I can discover.
And this Robert M. Crockett may have married 2 Oct 1854, Montgomery Co, TN, to Louisa A. Tinsley - which also means he cannot be the Robert living in Arkansas Co, AR, in 1850.
