[1521] This William was originally confused with William (BA II A 1) who married Mary Darby. It was thought that Mary had died and Johanna was a second wife, but the death registration for Mary was found in 1880 so this is a separate couple. The children were baptised at Castletownarra which is associated with the family of Philip and Ann Sparling (Ph E) which would seem to indicate some connection.

It also appears that in 1869, the surviving children were baptised again in the Roman Catholic Church at Ballina. This is likely after the death of William. Johanna's name is listed as Griffon
