Grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, graduated from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, Retired Vice President of the First National Bank of Chicago. Resident of Covenant Village of Florida. He leaves his wife of 72 years Catherine Carnahan Sparling, three children, Mrs. Sue Sparling Grieff of Bellevue, WA; Dr. P. Frederick Sparling of Moncure, NC and J. Rand Sparling of Chicago, IL; twelve grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and a brother Austin Sparling of Cedar Rapids, IA. Memorial service to be announced at a later date.
