CULVER, Ind. Floyd L. Sparling, 91, of 784 West Shore Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at his residence, following one month of failing health.
Private services will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport, Ind.
Born May 21, 1909, in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, he was the son of the late Newton and Meda Graham Sparling. He had lived in the Culver area since 1963. He was a builder and had been employed by the James I. Barnes Construction Company, Logansport, Ind., and he was the president of the Sparling Construction Co., Greensboro, for several years, prior to retiring in Culver, Ind. He was a graduate of Logansport High School and had attended Tri-State University, Angola, Ind.
Survivors are his wife, Marjorie Barnes Sparling of the home; two daughters, Virginia Sparling Doyle of Knightdale, Linda Sparling Brockey of Culver, Ind.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Sparling Laymon of Panama City, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Suzanne Sparling Greene of Greensboro; and a sister, Virginia Sparling Marshall.
