Charlotte claimed that her parents were Jacob and Mary Sparling but nothing has been found to confirm this. On marriage registration to Christopher Sparling her parents are listed as Christopher and Ann with no surname (These are HIS parents names). Upon her marriage to Joseph Stephens her parents were listed as Jacob and Mary Sparling, but this may be a result of asking her parents' Forenames and the registrar appending "Sparling".
