Henry A. Bastin, Pension File, Service Report to Pension Office

Washington, D. C., March 16, 1874.

Sir:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt from your Office of application for Pension No. 213,979, and to return herewith, with such information as is furnished by the files of this Office.

It appears from the Rolls on file in this Office that Henry A. Bastian was enrolled on the 2d day of Sept, 1861, at Indianapolis in Co. H, 33 Regiment of Indiana Volunteers, to serve Three years or during the war, and mustered into service as a Private on the 16th day of Sept, 1861, at Indianapolis, in Co. H, 33 Regiment of Indiana Volunteers, to serve Three years, or during the war. On the Muster Roll of Co. H, of that Regiment, for the months of July and Aug, 1862, he is reported "Absent on Sick leave". Muster out Roll dated July 11, 1865 reports him "Discharged Aug 31, 1862 for disability."

Cert. of Disability reports him dischd. At "Danville Ky. Dec. 14th, 1862" which date is accepted as correct.

Henry Bastin enlisted and mustered into service as substitute Feby 23.65 for one year in 33d Ind. Vols. Muster and Roll [carat insert] of Co. H [end insert] dated July 21, 65 reports Henry A. Bastin among those mustered out with remark "Mustered out G. O. 26. A. F. July 3, 65." No individual muster out Roll on file.
