Know all men by these presents that we George H. Walker & Henry M. Jones are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency Reubin Chapman governor of said State & his Successors in office in the penal sum of Two hundred Dollars for payment of which well and truly to be made we bind ourselves & each & every of our heirs Executors or Administrators jointly & severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated the 24th Decr A D 1849. The condition of the above obligation is such that if there be, no lawful cause why, George H. Walker and Elizabeth Chappell should not be joined together in the holy union of matrimony then this obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force & virtue.

You are hereby authorized to celebrate the Rites of matrimony between George H. Walker & Elizabeth Chappell And this shall be your sufficient -- authority for so doing. Given under my hand & Seal this 24th day of Decr A D one Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty nine and of American Independence the 74th Year.
