GENERAL AFFIDAVIT.

======================

State of Iowa, County of Cedar, ss:

IN THE MATTER OF Pension Claim of David S. Hepner No. 227072 late of Co. D. 29 Ind Infantry

ON THIS 26 day of November, A. D. 1894, personally appeared before me, a County Auditor in and for the aforesaid County, duly authorized to administer oaths, R R Leech aged 44 years, a resident of Tipton in the County of Cedar and State of Iowa whose Post Office address is Tipton Iowa and [section for information regarding second affiant is blank] well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who being duly sworn, declare in relation to the aforesaid case as follows:

Note:-Affiants should state how they gain a knowledge of the facts to which they testify.

I did not Know David S Hepner previous to his enlistment. Have Known him intimately for Eleven (11) years last past. Have been told by him frequently that the cause of his ill health is Chronic diarrhoea. Have also heard his doctor make the same statement. I Know from observation that his eyes are sore, one of them - the right eye - is at times very bad. I do not think David S Hepner is capable on account of ill health to perform manual labor.

The above statement was composed & written by myself unaided by any person or by any written or printed statement whatever.

And I further declare that I have no interest in said case and am not concerned in its prosecution.

(Signature of Affiant) R R Leech
