General Affidavit.

 

This should be sworn to before a CLERK OF COURT, NOTARY PUBLIC, WHO HAS A SEAL. If sworn to before a Justice of the Peace without seal, the CLERK OF COURT MUST ATTACH HIS CERTIFICATE, showing the official capacity of such Justice of the Peace, and that his signature is genuine.

 

State of Indiana County of Morgan ss:

In the matter of Pension Claim No. 32038 of Mary A. Bowlin daughter of of Elizabeth A. Bowlin widow Christopher Bowlin late of Company "B" 67th Regiment Indiana Inft Vols

On this 13 day of February 1901, before me Justice of Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid, personally appeared Mary A. Bowlin aged 47 years, whose post-office address is Paragon County of Morgan State of Indiana well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn according to law, upon her oath declares that she is a pensioner under the above number at two dollars per month on account of being blind and nervous not able to walk or stand alone. Her mother having died January 28th 1901, and she being without means of support believes she is entitled to draw her mother's pension according to law June 27th 1890, and also to draw accrued pension up to time of Mother's death and to prosecute this claim she hereby appoints John Kennedy of Paragon Morgan County Indiana as her attorney to prosecute this and agrees that [carat insert] his [end insert] fee shall be ten dollars when her pension is allowed.

Also personally appeared John P. Hynds of Paragon Morgan County Indiana and Silas Johnson of Paragon Morgan County Indiana each reputable and entitled to credit who being by me duly sworn state that they [insert] were [end insert] present and saw Mary A. Bowlin sign her name by making her mark to the foregoing statement and that she is the indentical person she represents herself to be

and they have no interest or concern in this matter.

Subscribed and sworn before me, this 13 day of February 1901 and I certify that the contents of the foregoing affidavit were duly read and fully made known to affiants before making oath to the same, and that I have no interest in this matter.
