DECLARATION FOR ["WIDOW" lined out] CHILDREN'S ARMY PENSION.

State of Indiana

County of Morgan } ss.

On the 17 day of Nov A. D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty Eight personally appeared before me, David Wilson, Clerk of the Circuit Court within and for the County and State aforesaid, Lucinda James, Louisa Northen, Nancy E. Quackenbush, Emanuel E. Bolin, Mary A. Bolin, Cyntha A. Coffman a resident of [blank] in the County of Morgan and State of Indiana, aged [blank] years, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth, on her oath, make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the provisions made by the act of Congress, approved July 14, 1862. That they are the legal heirs of Christopher C. Bolin and ["America E. Bolin" lined out] E. A. Bolin is the widow of Christopher C. Bolin who enlisted in the services of the United States at Monroe Co. in the State of Indiana on the [blank] day of [blank] 186[blank], as a Private in Company "B" commanded by Samuel Denney in the 67 Regiment of Indiana in the war of 1861; [blank] who, while in the service aforesaid, in the line of his duty Died in St. Louis 25th day June 1863 at [all sections of widow's army pension from here to the space for listing children under sixteen years of age and their birth dates left blank].

The last three the date of birth is proven and on file

And that the above named children are the only legitimate children of herself and her said husband, now living, who ["are" lined out] were under sixteen years of age at the death of said soldier. She further declares that she ["has not remarried since the death of her" lined out] said husband, nor has she adandoned the support of any one of the children above named, nor permitted any one of the same to be adopted by any other person or persons, as his, her, or their child.

And further, that her said husband has left no minor child [blank] by a former marriage.

She also declares that ["she has" replaced by "they have"] not in any manner been engaged in or aided or abetted the rebellion in the United States. ["She" replaced by "They"] hereby appoints J. J. Johnson, of Martinsville, State of Indiana, her true and lawful Attorney, with full power of substitution to prosecute this claim for pension, and to receive the certificate that may be issued therefor. She requests that her pension be paid at Indianapolis State of Indiana. Her Postoffice address is Martinsville County of Morgan State of Indiana.
