Chapter Activities

On May 27th, 2002 our chapter participated in Memorial Day celebrations at Chennault Place Assisted Living facility for disabled veterans. We helped host a bar-b-que for the residents by supplying the sausage and the buns and helped serve.

On June, 29th, 2002 we participated in a Memorial Service and Grave Marker Dedication service for three soldiers at Drake's Fork Cemetery in Cravens, Louisiana. Soldiers honored that day were, John Deason of the 33rd Arkansas Infantry, Martin Van Buren Johnson, of the 3rd Louisiana Artillery, and Benjamin Nash of the Consolidated Crescent Infantry Regiment of Louisiana.

On the 4th of July we assisted with another bar-b-que at Chennault Place. This time we served the food. One of our local tv stations, KPLC featured the bar-b-que on their evening news segment on that day and we were mentioned as having participated.

On the weekend of September 22, 2002 our chapter participated in a reenactment with other local Southern Heritage groups in Jennings, Louisiana, where we handed out information about our UDC and C of C chapters.
