RESEARCHERS PLEASE NOTE!

Please look upon this site as a "clearing house" for genealogical data. Many generous researchers have donated their notes and their works-in-progress in order to share their data with others. Please do not assume that all information on these pages is absolute fact. Use this material as clues for your work, and if you feel any of this data is totally erroneous, please let me know.
Take advantage of the search engine...it is updated one - two times per week.
The buttons on your left will take you to some of my lines. Clicking on the highlighted areas below will take you to a great deal of genealogical material collected over a period of 40 years B. C. (Before Computers!) I have an enormous collection of data, but unfortunately, it's hardcopies and no one out there has access to it. So, my monumental goal is to upload it to the internet and share it with others. If a reference source is not cited, then please use the information as clues for your own search. Please be patient, check back often, and who knows, you might break through a brick wall! This information is to be used strictly for the purpose of personal genealogical research, and is not to be used for monetary gain. And please remember that human errors are possible.

I am an 11th generation descendant of CORNET JOSEPH PARSONS and his wife, MARY BLISS. For extended information on these, and related lines, please go to

BUSH - KIMBELL, COOSA CO, ALABAMA & JACKSON PARISH, LA.
Updated 2 January 2006 My Step-Father was LUTHER ROSCOE BUSH, b. 1920, Eros, Jackson Parish, La., d. 1995, Shreveport, Caddo Parish, La. He and my Mother, MARZEE JOHNS PARSONS, were married 9 March 1946 in Shreveport. Roscoe was not my biological father, but he was my father in every sense of the word. When he died in 1995, I fell heir to a box of keepsakes containing many genealogical treasures which I am now sharing with others via this site. For additional info on these folks, please use the surname buttons on the left, and don't forget the search engine!! Enjoy!! And, please, if you can identify any of these folks, or are connected to them, let me know...I'd really like to gather as much information as possible and share it on this site!!!

CONFEDERATE ECHOES 1964 -1966

DIXIE DATA
In 1960, when my interest in genealogy first began to spark, there weren't many available resources at the local level. If I had the opportunity to search a record, and copy it, I did. My feeling was that I had no idea who my ancestors were nor where they came from, so I was afraid NOT to copy something--I might need it later!! Well, here it is folks!! A gumbo of material from all over the south. Sources are cited and other genealogists are given credit when possible. This material is being put out here for everyone to share with no monetary gain for anyone. Enjoy!

Concordia Cemetery, El Paso, Texas
Walked and copied by Jan Parsons Armstrong in 1965. There are approximately 450 inscriptions here and there are thousands more out there still to be copied. Concordia has many private sections, Jewish, Chinese, Catholic, Masonic, Odd Fellows, and more. Concordia's best known resident is the legendary gun-fighter, John Wesley Hardin whose inscription is not in this batch because that is a whole other story!!! If you have a missing ancestor who "went west" or "went to the Texies", then take a look here...these people were from everywhere. They came here looking for opportunities, land, blue skies and open spaces. Many also came for their health...El Paso had TB Sanitoriums which were famous. Jan Parsons Armstrong August 12, 2000

TUBBS BITS AND PIECES, SOUTHERN & NORTHERN LINES

Updated 13 January 2006. This site was formerly devoted to the southern lines, but now includes Tubb/Tubbs data from the south and the north. And although I cannot prove it, I have always believed that all these lines are cut from the same piece of cloth--but that's just my opinion. Today there is a newly found letter from Lora Lee Layne and an entire file on Jeremiah Tubbs of the northern Tubbs line. A collection of Tubbs material from the south gleaned from 35-40 year old correspondence with other Tubbs researchers. There are hundreds of these letters and I hope to upload all of them eventually. This section is dedicated to Lora Lee Layne and her intense efforts in Tubbs Research--I wish she had lived long enough to enjoy genealogy on the internet!!!!
