MISC. TEST. P. 3773-Annie Meggs, through Tom Roach, interperter:

"I am 39 years of age. Both of my parents were emigrants and lived in North Carolina. They came to this country after the war but don't know when. I was two years of age when we came out here. My father has a full sister by the name of Mrs. Ellis Starr. Think maybe her name is Martha. She lives near Salisaw. Her husband is Ellis Starr. Jess Locust who lives near Texanna is also a full brother to my father. His Indian name is Ja-sah-nih. My father's Indian name was Ah-ta-lees-ki-kih. His father was named Joe Locust and his mother was Gal-stah-yih. (See Chapman # 939-940). Father Chapman # 943. Sew-wih-nee-kuk and Wes-tih were my father's brother. Nau-hee-luh and Ja-sah-nih (Chapman # 945 and # 945 {sic}) were full brothers of my father. Minne[sic] Cocharn is my husband's half sister on my mother's side. Minnie died the 9thy of July 1908. Minnie's father was name Doctore Vann or Dah-ya-wuh. (See Delaware # 261). A-we is a full sister of Dah-ya-wuh. She is still living near Eucha. Ave Ridge is her name now. My Dawes number is 20686."

*Transcriber notes

1880 Cherokee Census # 532-Saline District as 'Charlotte' Heigh-18 yrs.

m. Tee-gee-sky Doublehead before 1892

Dawes Roll # 20686, Census Card # 8975 as Annie Megg-Saline District-Spavinaw, IT

1896 Census Roll # 136-Saline District as Annie Buck

Full Blood Cherokee

* Seems to me there should be a 'supplemental sheet' along with this application, listing her daughter, Jennie Doublehead, 15 years of age)

* In MISC. TEST. P. 3773-(listed above), it seems there is an error in the relationship between Minnie Cochran and Annie Meigs. In order to confirm the relationship, MA # 516, Minnie Cochran, and MA # 364, David Chu-a-lu-kee will be needed. I don't have them at this time, will try to obtain at a later date and post. Anyone working on any of this line, I would love to share info with you. I'm not yet sure as to the 'Buck' connection either, Annie was listed as Annie Buck on the 1896 Census Roll.
