Obituary for Prentiss W. Owens

Milton, PA. -- Prentiss Wayne Ownes, 84, of 1245 Jefferson St., Milton, died Monday afternoon, June 5, 2006, in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Aug. 2, 1921 in Sentinel, Okla., he was ta som of the late Roy P. Owens and Ruby (Williams) Owens.
He and his wife, the former Jame Pawling, were married Dec. 21, 1945.
Mr. Owens graduated from Tulsa High School in Oklahoma and attended Penn State and Bucknell universities.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the Navy as a radioman first class and graduated from the aeronautical instrument school in Tulsa, Okla.
He was a maintenance supervisor at TRW, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milton; the Milton Hisotrical Society, where he was an active worker; and the Civil War Roundtable in Sunbury.
Mr Owens was a history enthusiast, particularly the Civil War. He also enjoyed baseball, football, traveling, and camping.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Owens; two sons, Todd Owens and Jon Owens and five grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held with the Rev. Cheryl L. Berner officiating. Interment will be made in the MIlton Cemetery.
