Charles Calderone

 

Charles Calderone, 87, of Neptune City, died Wednesday. Born in Italy, he came to the United States, residing in Garfield for 83 years before moving to Neptune City two years ago. Mr. Calderone was a business agent for International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Local 145, Passaic, where he worked for 41 years, retiring five years ago. He was a parishioner of Mount

Virgin R.C. Church, Garfield. He was a member of American Association of Retired Persons, Garfield chapter, and Golden Agers.  A son, Thomas, died in 1976. Survivors include his wife, the former Rose Inguagiata; a daughter, Rosalie Minotti of Neptune City; two sisters, Anna Lore of Garfield and Mary Gaggiano of Lyndhurst; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services are 9 a.m. Friday Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield, and 10 a.m. at Mount Virgin Church.

Rosalie Calderone

 

Garfield - Mrs. Rosalie Calderone, 82, of 96 Farnham Avenue, widow of Gaetano (Thomas) Calderone, died today in her home after a short illness. Born in Lercara friddi, Sicily, Mrs. Calderone settled in this country 51 years ago.  She resided 10 years in New York before moving to this city 41 years ago.  She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin R.C. Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Society of that church. She was also a member of Chapter 1229, Daughters of Italy. Surviving are two sons, Frank Liberti, of this city, a general organizer for the AFL-CIO, and Charles, also of Garfield, a representative of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union local in Passaic; three daughters, Mrs. John (Vincenza) De Feo, of Saddle Brook; Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Caggiano, of Lyndhurst; Mrs. Frank (Anna) LoRe of this city; 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1953.

Thomas Calderone

 

Thomas Calderone, 72 , of 96 Farnham Avenue, Garfield, died in his home following a heart attack at 7 a.m. today. Born in Italy, Mr. Calderone came to America in 1902 and , after a residence in New York, moved to Garfield in 1915, where he was a parishioner in Our Lady of Mt. Virgin R.C. Church. Mr. Calderone was married to his wife, Mrs. Rosalie Romano Calderone, in Lercara Friddi, Italy. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in

December, 1951. Mr. Calderone was a garment presser employed by the Duca Dress Company, of Lodi, until his retirement five years ago, and was a member of Local 145, ILGWU. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Anna) LoRe, of Garfield; Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Caggiano, of Lyndhurst; and Mrs. John (Vi) DeFeo, of Saddle River township; one son, Charles Calderone, and one step-son, Frank Liberti, both of Garfield; 13

grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Salvatore (Rosalie) Cali, of Garfield; Mrs. Philip (Jennie) Cucci, of the Bronx; and Mrs. Giochino (Mary) Abbate, in Italy.

Thomas F. Calderone

 

Clifton -Thomas F. Calderone, 39, died Sunday in Beth Israel Hospital, Passaic.  He was an interior decorator.   Mr. Calderone was born in Passaic and had resided in Garfield before moving to Clifton 13 years ago. He was a sales representative and interior decorator with Coremin Furniture Co., Pequannock, for 18 years. He was a parishioner of St. Andrew R.C. Church. He had served in the U.S. army from 1960 to 1963. He was a member of Lodge 1569, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.  He is survived by his wife, the former Arlene Bishow; two sons, Todd and Craig, both at home, a daughter, Miss Karen, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. and Rose Calderone of Garfield; and a sister, Mrs. Peter (Rosalie) Minotti of Neptune.  The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Shook Funeral Home with a 9:30 Mass at St. Andrew Church.
