This is a travel book for Southern Italy and Sicily.  It contains some great historical information and is organized mostly by ROUTES one may wish to explore.  The full image of maps may be found on our MAPS page.  NOTE:  I have just begun so only have about 10 pages processed so far.  I have included the table of contents so please let me know if there is anything in particular you may want to see and I will try to provide those sections first - Donna Guiffre..

c01_small.jpg (67006 bytes) 1991:  From Palermo to New Orleans (second printing) by Mary Ann Riviere.  This book is more than just a transcription of a passenger list - this includes info of that time period, newspaper articles, and in-depth analysis of 'how to transcribe lists' along with other helpful suggested readings and tips.  This is COPYRIGHTED material and printed here with the author's permission.  This is not to be reprinted from these pages in any way shape or form.  Please contact Mary Ann for a copy or more info.   The book includes the following sections:  Introduction and The Arrival of the Bolivia, Manifest of the Bolivia, Transcription of the Passenger List, Possible Corrections, Special Notations, Suggested Readings, and Index.   
TOC 1892: The Story of the Nations - Sicily (first edition) by T. Fisher Unwsin. Believe it or not, it was sent to me by my cousin in Siracusa. She says it is one of the best books she has read on Sicilian History. There is a map of ancient Sicily , Prefix, Introduction and parts of the book as follows:  Chapter IV (if you have cable) or Chapter 4 in smaller chunks: pages 39-42, 43-46, 47-50, 51-54, 55-56, or you may view each individual page one at a time.  Submitted by:  Celeste Knox .  If you see any other chapter that you would like to see - please let me know so that Celeste may scan more pages (thanks Celeste!) - Donna Guiffre
