Mallow Field Club Journal
No. 19 - 2001
The excitement of the new millenium is over, but things continue to change. This is the last time that the
£ sign will be seen on the cover of our journal. From now on we will be using Euros, as well as all the other countries in the European Union.
Up to now all the cover pictures on the Journal were drawn by John J. Kavanagh. These depictions of mills, castles, churches and stone monuments were testimony to John Kavanagh's artistic talents and are a memorial to his generosity to the Field Club for which we are very grateful. The cover drawing on this Journal is hopefully the first of many from another supporter of the Field Club, Michael O'Sullivan.
In this Journal we present articles on a variety of subjects from horses and windows to politicians and emigrants, as well as notes on railways, Whiteboys and Medical history. We always like to hear what our readers think of the Journal and would welcome suggestions for future research.
