Mallow Field Club Journal

No. 12 - 1994

As we present Mallow Field Club Journal No. 12, it is timely to reflect on the changes that will influence the future of our town. The Patrician Brothers, who for one hundred and fifteen years contributed so much to the education of the youth of Mallow, have handed over their schools to lay educators.

The "Designated Area" of Mallow, from Spa and Bridge Street to Carmichaels Lane, will certainly give rise to much new development. The new Cork - Mallow road which was completed and opened this year makes Mallow more accessible to visitors. We hope to continue recording these changes in our Journal.

This year the Field Club has initiated the collection of archival material, and looks forward to the day when proper facilities will be available in Mallow to store this precious material. Once again we strongly appeal to our readers to appreciate the importance of old documents, manuscripts, photographs and published material.

We hope our readers will enjoy this journal and will advertise it to their friends.
