Mallow Field Club Journal

No. 10 - 1992

This year we are celebrating the tenth issue of Mallow Field Club Journal. This achievement is a milestone in recording the history of Mallow and the surrounding area. Our Journal has established a niche as one of the more successful historical journals in the Munster area. The Editorial Committee wish to express their thanks to all involved, to our many contributors, to the Oriel Printers and to the people of Mallow and the surrounding district for their constant support.

So far we have succeeded in issuing a Journal each year before Christmas. Entering our second decade, it is important to ensure it will continue to be produced at a high standard. In the past ten years Mallow has changed dramatically, and it is essential to record these changes, old and new. Interest in history has also grown among the general public, and especially among our school going population.

Mallow and the surrounding area is particularly rich in history and archaeology and we hope to continue recording that story over the next ten years. In this regard we invite people with historical material or lore of any kind to contact us and contribute to the recording of the history of our local area.
