County Dublin

County Dublin County Council was abolished on 1st January 1994 and was replaced by three new but smaller county councils.  This was done to give effect to the increased population in the three new administrative areas and to improve local representation and decision making.  The three new councils are - Dun Laoghire - Rathdown, Fingal & South Dublin County Councils
