Mrs Grant Graham is called after a brief illness.
Mary Eileen Graham, wife of Grant R Graham and a very prominent young matron of this district, passed away at St. Michael's hospital in Lethbridge Thursday night at twelve o'clock after a few days of illness from blood poisoning.
Mary Eileen Tennant was born on the Tennant homestead three miles northwest of Coutts on August 20 1911 and died November 9 1933 at the age of 22 years 2 months and nineteen days, having spent all her life in this vicinity.
The deceased received her early education here and in Medicine Hat and was a graduate of the Calgary Normal school and became one of our sucessful school teachers, and was also a pianist of outstanding ability.
Eileen Tennant and Grant R Graham were united in marriage on July 9 1932 to which union one son was born.
The deceased is survived by her husband, and son Anthony, aged 2 months, and mother, Mrs Sadie M. Tennant, two sisters Monica and Sadie Tennant and two brothers James and Joseph Tennant all of Coutts. Her father the late Henry J, Tennant, who died a few years ago was one of the pioneer residents of the Coutts district.
Funeral services were held from the Catholic church in Coutts Monday morning with the very Rev. Father Doran of Milk River officiating. The high esteem in which the deceased was held was shown by the large concourse of friends that attended the last rites and the extensive and very beautiful floral offerings. All places of business in Coutts were closed during the funeral. Pall bearers were Walmar Galts, Merle Bunday, Cecil Coover, Arthur Furlong, George Astle and Patrick Buckley jr. M E Christensen of the Christensen Funeral Home, Lethbridge, was the undertaker in charge.
The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the sorrowing relatives in the untimely takeing away of their loved one. She was buried in Canada-Alberta-Coutts. She died from Blood Poisoning.

She was married to Grant R. Graham on July 9, 1932 in Canada-Alberta-Coutts. Mary Eileen Tennant and Grant R. Graham had the following children:

Val Marie A 21 year old employee of the Saskatchewan Power Corporation died Monday evening in Swift Current hospital as the reault of a fall from a power pole he was helping wire near Val Marie.
Dead is Richard Graham of Coutts Alta, who was employed as a construction worker with power corporation crews installing power between Shaunavon and Val Marie.
Mr Graham reportedly fell from the pole while he was helping workers stretch power wires from pole to pole. He received medical attention at Val Marie and was rushed to Swift Current hospital in a panel truck operated by a demonstrator of fire fighting supplies.
The victim was admitted to hospital at 4:30 pm but died about two hours later.
He is survived by his parents, Mr and Mrs George Graham Coutts.(mistake)

Coutts- Requiem High Mass was celebrated in Holy Angels church here Saturday morning for the late Richard Graham, who met death in an accident in Saskatchewan. Rev. Fr. Dorion officiated at the service assisted by Rev. Fr. Vornbrook. Pallbearers were Leonard Olsen and Ivan Livingstone of Coutts, Ron Cyr of Brooks, V R Creadle of Tisdale Sask. Edwin Schaaf and Wayne Hendley of Qu'Appelle Sask.
Friends from the Saskatchewan Power Corp and Campion Collede attended the funeral rites.
Mr Graham was born at Lethbridge in 1933, the son of Mr and Mrs Grant Graham. He attended the Coutts school and later Campion College where he graduated in 1952. He was awarded a crest for service in the Campion College Royal Air Force Squad and also an Airforce scholarship at Calgary. He won his private licence and wings and joined the RCAF. He was posted to London, Ont and was honorable discharged in 1952. In April 1953 he began work with the Saskatchewan Power Corp, and was fatally injured when he was struck by a wire and knocked from the pole on which he was working. He died four hours later at the Swift Current hospital. Predeceased by his mother Nov 10 1933, he is survived by his grandmother, Mrs S. Tennant of Coutts.

Description of accident
Stringing secondaries 3 - #2 ACSR in Val Marie. The pole that Graham had been working on was to have breakers installed, after the wire was properly sagged. He stapled the conductors in their proper position with ground moulding staples and then gave signal for the truck driver to proceed down lane with the wire. He started climbing down the same side of the pole that the conductors were fastened on. The bottom conductor came unfastened by pulling the staple and fell under tension striking Graham on forearm causing him to fall about 18' - 20' to the ground.

Miller - Passed away suddenly in Milk River on Saturday, March 4 1972 Mr Max Miller at the age of 56 years, beloved husband of Mrs Monica Miller of Milk River, born in Estevan Saskatchewan the late Mr Miller came to Burdett with his parents when he was three years old and was raised and educated there. He was in training with the RCMP in Regina from 1936 to 1937 later taking an honourable discharge. He moved to Warner in the late 1930's and to Coutts in 1938. He married the former Monica Tennant in Coutts in 1943 and farmed in the Burdett and Coutts areas until moving to Milk River in 1964. He continued to reside there until his sudden passing and was co-owner and operator of M and R Lumber Ltd. Milk River, a member of the Knights of Columbus fourth degree (Father LaComb Council Lethbridge) also a member of the Milk River Chamber of Commerce and the Milk River Curling Club. Besides his loving wife he is servived by five daughters Mrs R (Gwen) Mackinnon Edmonton, Miss Celeste Miller and Miss Janice Miller both of Wetaskiwin, Miss Rita Miller Calgary, Miss Maureen Miller Milk River one son Wayne Copenhagen Denmark; two sisters Mrs J (Minnie) Pratt and Mrs L (Evelyn) Pratt both of Victoria; three brothers Messrs. Bob Miller Burdett, Joe Miller Vancouver and Matt Miller of Medicine Hat. Prayers will be said in St Peter's Catholic Church, Milk River. Requiem Mass will be celbrated on Wednesday at 10.30 am in St Peter's Catholic Church, Milk River with John Schuster Rev Father Gilles and rev Father McLellan celebrants. Interment will follow in the Holy Angels cemetery, Coutts. Friends may pay their respects at Martin Bros Traditional Chapel. In lieu of flowers friends who wish may donate to the Alberta Heart Fund care of Mrs M N Wray.

Max miller passing shocks local residents.
The community was shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Mr Max Miller on Saturday morning, March 4. He was partner with Dave Russel in the M & R hardware business in Milk River. His sorrowing family include his wife Monica and five daughter and one son. The son is presently touring Europe. He was buried in Canada-Alberta-Coutts. Monica Frances Tennant and Maximillian Miller had the following children:

Cairo Wayne Jerome Miller 23 of Lethbridge drowned in the Nile River near the Sudanese capital of Khartoum, a Canadian Embassy official said in Cairo Tuesday.
The official said that friends of the dead man's sister, Celeste Marie Miller, told police in Khartoum that Miller drowned in an accident on the Nile near Khartoum last Friday.

Miller Wayne Jerome aged 22 years beloved son of Mrs Max (Monica) Miller, Milk River Alberta died suddenly in Khartoum Sudan (Africa) March 4 1972. Besides his loving mother, Wayne is survived by five sisters.
Born in Lethbridge Feb 11 1950, Wayne received most of his schooling in Southern Alberta and graduated from High School at St Anthony's College, Edmonton. He received his BA degree from the University of Calgary, April 1970. Since then he has spent his time working in Calgary and furthering his studies at the University of Calgary, as well as travelling. While in the city Wayne was a pitcher for the Calgary Cubs Baseball team. He travelled extensively in search of knowledge and experiences, gathering information which he had intended to use to write a thesis for his Masters degree. His travels had taken him to Mexico, Europe and Africa where he was at the time of his death. He was cremated in Khartoum and his remains will be returned home for burial. He was buried in Canada-Alberta-Coutts.
