Engaged as a land guide scout 1871: Dominion Government Land Guide for a number of years and served on the International Boundry Commission 1872-1874. and made over the last of the stock from that commission to the RNWMP, Dufferin on their organization in their first camp in the West. Army and Navy Veterans Honor Memory of Comrade Members of the Winnipeg unit army and Navy Veterans, attended, last night, Thomson's undertaking parlors to pay their last respects to their departed comrade, J. F. Tennant, who died at Yorkton Tuesday morning. Meeting at the temporary headquarters of the association, Plymouth block, the members about 50 in number, paraded to the undertaking parlors amd included the following officers and old timers of the association: W. J. LeCappelain president, Morris Jones first vice president, J. W. Forbes second vice president, W. J. Tupper K.C. and J.H. Holman past presidents, G. R. Maxwell secretary-treasurer, J. Hay, H. Hubbell, C. Stewart, J. Fahey, E. Browne-Wilkinson, Col. J Lightfoot, Capt D. M. Bruce, C. Betts, E. W. Low, S. Pearson. E. Wardell, Frank Thould and E. Patton. The remains were taken last night by C.P.R. to Gretna and interment will be made at Neche, North Dakota. J. H. Holman will act as one of the pall bearers, representing the Army and Navy Vets.
