Mrs. Annie Reed Opie, aged 63 years, well known and highly esteemed Houghton
matron, passed away at 11:30 o'clock Monday morning at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. John Klingkammer, in Dakota Heights, after a long illness.
The deceased is survived by the following children: Frank C. Opie of
Denver, Col.; Arthur J. Opie of Wyandotte, Mich.; Melvin L. Opie of
Flint, Mrs. Charles Trevathan, Mrs. John Klingkammer, Lorraine and
Bessie, all of Houghton.
Funeral services will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Charles Trevathan, 136 Douglass street, Thursday afternoon. Burial
will be in Forest Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Klingkammer Lived at Hurontown for 56 Years
Mrs. Mary Klingkammer, wife of Joseph Klingkammer, died yesterday at her
home in Hurontown. Death followed an illness of two months.
Mrs. Klingkammer was, in point of residence though not of age, one of the
pioneers of Hurontown, having lived there 56 years. She was born in
Switzerland but came to the United States with her parents when two years of
age, the family came at once to Hurontown. She was known and liked by
every resident of the location since her childhood and there is general mourning
over her loss. Surviving are her husband and these children: John, Ray
and Beatrice at home, Mrs. James Broom of Hurontown and Mrs.
Alfred Anderson of Detroit.

of St. Benedict Catholic Church where he will lie in state Thursday, December
28, 2000, 10:30 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Rev. H. Thomas
Kuehnemund officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Donelson, John and Evans funeral Home
Wednesday, 5-9 p.m. Rosary Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. Memorials may be
made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes available at the
funeral home.
