DORSEY

Mathew Dorsey Tipperary Ireland 1843 to McKillop July that year.

 

Mary Shea daughter of Bridget Dorsey and James Shea came to this country in June 1834 from Tipperary, Ireland when six months old, with her mother and two older sisters. They landed in London, from where they walked to Harpurhey. Dr. Cholk then got a team and had them sent on to Irishtown, where Dinnie(Dennis) Dorsey, her mother's brother, lived. They afterwards joined her father who had come out some time before, at the Welland Canal, where he found employment for three years. After three years they moved to McKillop, where her father died

 

Bridget Dorsey nee Burke was a native of Tipperary, Ireland, and came to this county with her husband and family about 43 years ago. {1845] They then settled in the township of McKillop

Michael Darcy from Ballyneale in Tipperary was married at St. John's in 1824.(Don't know if there is any connection to other Dorsey's or anything else about this Michael)
