MISHAWAKA - Rev. Vernon H. Yousey, 97, of 925 West Lowell Ave., died of natural causes at 9:20 a.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Yousey retired in 1954 as a minister, serving in Brightmoor, Mich., from 1933 to 1940; Kalamazoo from 1940 to 1947, and Bethel College from 1947 to 1954. He was born July 9, 1896, in Poole, Ontario. On May 18, 1918, in Elkton, Mich., he married Nina E. Rosenberger. She died Jan. 24, 1966.

 

In 1967, in Anderson, Ind., he married Clara Mae Morrison. She survives, with a daughter, Eleanor I. Phillips of Kalamazoo; four stepdaughters, Nila Bennett of Seattle, Mary Hutton and Eunice Kane, both of Anderson, and Stella Sharp of San Bernardino, Calif.; a son, Donald I. of Palmetto, Fla.; a stepson, Gordon Morrison of Concordia, Kan.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

 

Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in Gospel Center Church, South Bend. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Troy, Mich. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel College
