SOUTH BEND - Harold E. Yoder, 90, of Timbercrest Retirement Home, North Manchester, Ind., and formerly of 3019 Rue Marceau, South Bend, died Thursday evening in the retirement home following an illness.

 

Mr. Yoder was a bookkeeper for William H. Burke Plumbing Co. in South Bend for 45 years, retiring in 1970. From 1921 to 1972 he also was employed at the Philadelphia Restaurant and Candy Store in South Bend and also was employed at Keith Carbiener Company in South Bend.

 

He was born Nov. 12, 1903, in Nappanee, moving to South Bend, and to the Timbercrest Home in 1983. On March 23, 1924 in Millwood, Ind., he married Ella Flory. She died Nov. 21, 1985. Surviving are a grandson, Wishart B. Bell of South Bend; and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, Evelyn Yoder, preceded him in death. He was a 60-year member of the Church of the Brethren, South Bend.

 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Thompson & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery, Nappanee. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Timbercrest Home, North Manchester.
