Walter W. Yendes

SOUTH BEND - Walter W. Yendes, 67, of Holiday Drive N., died at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mr. Yendes was a retired businessman. He was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident. On May 16, 1948, in Mishawaka, he married Amaryllis ''Amy'' Futterknecht. She survives with a daughter, Linda Rykert of Granger; a son, Kevin of South Bend; and a sister, Betty Bendit of South Bend. He was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 569, Masonic Lodge 130, Mishawaka, and Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend. He was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call two hours Saturday before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association of St. Joseph County.
