Sister M. Teresa Yandl CSC, 80, of Saint Mary’s Convent died at 11 a.m. Friday in the convent. She was bonr Feb. 20, 1910 and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross Jan. 30, 1927; was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1927; and professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1929. She was an elementary and kindergarten teacher Oceanview, Va.; and New York City; and also taught at Holy Cross and St. Joseph Grade Schools in South Bend. From 1950 to 1977 she taught kindergarten at St. Mary’s Campus. She was also assigned to schools in Flint, Mich.; and Streator, Ill. She retired to St. Mary’s in 1972. Surviving are, a sister, Sister M. Joan Grandi CSC of Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent in South Bend; and a brother George Yandl of South Bend.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Church of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Mary’s Convent, where a wake will be conducted at 7 p.m.
