Sister M. Franciana CSC, died in St. Mary’s Convent today after suffering a heart attack. She was born Margaret Elizabeth Worden in Yale, Mich. in 1885d taught for several years in Columbus, Ohio before joining the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1919. She received the habit in 1920 and made herprofession of vows in 1925. She taught in Ogden, Utah, and was superior and teacher in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, and St. Joseph Grade School in South Bend in 1947. She was mistress of novices from 1937 to 1943. She served as assistant to the provincial of the eastern province from 1951 to 1957. Illness forced her into retirement to St. Mary’s in 1960.

 

A requiem high mass will be offered at 6 a.m. Friday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call in the convent parlor.
