Bobby Ray Woody

MISHAWAKA - Bobby Ray Woody, 77, of Mishawaka, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, in Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL, while recuperating from major surgery. Bobby was born on November 25, 1930, in Florence, Alabama, to the union of Enoch and Jimmie Louise (Risner) Woody. Both parents preceded him in death. Surviving siblings are Mae Andrews of Metarie, LA, Donna Fay Scallon of Marrero, LA, and Richard (Pat) Woody of Meridanville, Alabama. A sister, Helen Woody, and a brother, L.E. (Mary) Woody, preceded him in death. He married his childhood sweetheart, Jimmie Estella Gray, on February 25, 1949. They soon relocated to Mishawaka in search of work. It was there that his four children were born, Michael Steven (Deb) Woody, Liberty Center, OH, Marsha (Mark) Vincent of Jimtown, Kevin Woody and Michele Woody, both of Mishawaka. Bob had nine grandchildren, Amanda (Gary) Fall, Dustin Woody, Cody Vincent, Colton Vincent, Carly Vincent, Lucy Vogel Woody, Kristine Bleim, Keith Bleim and Katherine Bleim. He also had four great-grandchildren, Keegan and Kendall Fall, Gage Stultz and Keegan Banks. Bob worked in local factories Ball Band, Miles Laboratories, and was at Dodge Manufacturing until his retirement. Bob was a quiet, kind and gentle man who loved his family, his grandchildren and animals. He will be greatly missed by all.

 

Visitation will be in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 24, and 10 a.m. on Sept. 25th, with funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka following graveside services. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Northwestern Memorial Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
