Wood, John C. 77
of 801 S 27th St, died at 10:40am Sunday in the St
Joseph’s Medical Center emergency room after suffering an
apparent heart attack while attending services at RiverPark United
Methodist Church. He was a retired parts manager of the
former Feferman Motor Sales.
He was born on September
6, 1904, in Delphi IN, and lived in the South Bend are 51 years
after coming from Delphi. On June 22, 1933, in Kokomo he
married the former Mary who survives with a son, Michael, of South
Bend; two grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Wood of Delphi.
Services will be
at 10am Wednesday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood,
with Rev John pastor of River Park United Methodist Church,
officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today. He
was a member of Portage Lodge 675 F & AM, the South Bend
Kiwanis Club and the River Park United Methodist Church. He
was a driver for Meals on Wheels. Memorial contributions
may be made to the church
