Gertrude M. Wisniewski

MISHAWAKA - Gertrude M. Wisniewski, 89, passed away at 2:15 am on Thursday, April 8, 2010, in Hospice House. Gertrude was born on September 3, 1920 in South Bend to the late Boleslaw and Mary (Kalka) Rutkowski. She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Harry Rutkowski and Matthew Rutkowski and by her granddaughter, Beth Ann Bailey. On October 3, 1942 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, she married Casimir Wisniewski, he survives along with their children, Diane M. (Dennis) Bailey of Sun City West, AZ, Elaine A. (Danny) Johnson of Plymouth, IN, Kenneth G. (Rose) Wisniewski of Gilbert, AZ, and Paul J. Wisniewski of Granger; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and by her brother, Ray Rutkowski of Madison, WI. Gertrude retired from J.W. Draperies in 1983 after 15 years of service. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church where she belonged to the Rosary Society, Sisters Auxiliary, Harvest House and St. Hedwig Golden Cluster. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, April 11, 2010 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, April 12, 2010 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637.
