Services for Sister M. Ella Rose Wirthlin CSC, 81, of St. Mary’s Convent, who died Tuseday morning in the convent, will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Church of Loretto, and buial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetrery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today in the convent.

She was born Ella Virginia Wirthlin on Oct. 12, 1908 in Eureka, Utah. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on June 17, 1931; was received as a novice Jan. 6, 1932; and made her profession of vows on Jan. 6, 1934. She was a music teacher and served schools in Fresno, LaJolla, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacremento, San Mateo and Woodland, all in California and also in Bosie, Idaho.
