Sister M. Electa Windle CSC, 72, of Saint Mary’s Convent, Notre Dame died unexpectedly at 3 a.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born on Aug. 23, 1911, as Nora Mary Windle, in Newton County, Kerry, Ireland, and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s, Notre Dame, on Feb. 1, 1935 coming from Chicago. She was received as a novice on Aug. 15, 1935 and made her final profession of vows two years later. She was assigned to household duties throughout her community life, serving at St. Mary’s Convent from 1958 to 1970.Her other assignments were in Michigan City, Hammond and Morris, Ill. She served at St. Edward’s Church in Peoria, Ill. as a home visitor to the elderly from 1970 until recently, when she became ill and returned here. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. J.J. Murphy, and a brother, James Windle, both of Chicago.

 

Services will be hled at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary’s. Friends may call today and Tuesday before the hour of services at St. Mary’s Convent Parlors, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. today.
