Willie Williams

Mr. Willie Williams, 69, dear husband, father, grandfather and brother who resided on South Catalpa Street, South Bend, Ind., departed this life after an illness of one year at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, in his residence. On Jan. 9, 1931, in Jackson, Tenn., he was born to the union of the late Willie and Viona (Lawrence) Williams, Sr. Coming from Milwaukee, Wis., he moved to South Bend in 1969.

 

In South Bend on March 16, 1989, he and Lucille Taylor were united in marriage. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marines, and retired from the Reinke Construction Company. Loving family members who survive include his wife, Lucille; a daughter, Emma Williams of South Bend; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Edna Smith of Hickman, Ky.; and a brother, Sam (Geraldine) Williams of Gary, Ind., along with other relatives and friends.

 

Services for Mr. Williams will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in Alford's Mortuary. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at Alford's Mortuary where arrangements have been entrusted.
