Robert L. Williams

March 24, 1923 – October 10, 1985

Robert Levi Williams, 62, of 26160 Lake Lane, died at 3:10am today in Carlyle Nursing Home.  Mr. Williams retired from Bendix Corp after 42 years.

He was born March 24, 1923, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.  On November 6, 1973, he married the former Marcella J. Davis, who survives.  Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Vickie Bongiovanni of South Bend and Jane Anderson of Cassopolis; two sons, Robert W. of Lake Bluff IL and Kevin E. of Norman OK; a stepson, Robert E. Poorman of West Palm Beach FL; two grandchildren; and seven step grandchildren.

Services will be at 10am Saturday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel.  Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Friday in the funeral home.  Mr. Williams was a member of the Terre Coupee Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of South Bend, the New Carlisle American Legion post and the Disabled American Veterans of South Bend.  He was a veteran of WW II.
