Sister M. Alphonse CSC, of St. Mary’s Convent died there Wednesday evening after an extended illness. She was born in Rotterdam, Holland on Aug. 19, 1901 as Cornella Wilke. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Sept. 9, 1921. She made her final profession of vows on Jan. 6, 1925. She spent 16 years at St. Columba’s School in Cairo, Ill.; five years at St. Patrick’s School in South Bend; and 10 years at Most Holy Redemer in Evergreen Park, Ill. Survivors include a sister, Sister M. Julien CSC of South Bend

 

Friends may call up to the time of services in the convent parlors where rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus.
