MISHAWAKA - Grady W. White Sr., 81, of Mishawaka, passed away on May 19, 2012. Grady was born on April 10, 1931, in Waterloo, AL. Surviving are four sons, Larry, Grady Jr., Don and Ron White; 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Grady was preceded in death by his wife, Mable (Ezekiel) White. Visitation will be held today, May 22nd, from 1-3 pm & 5-7 pm at the Bubb Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 23rd, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. Published in South Bend Tribune on May 22, 2012

Grady W. White Sr., 81 of Mishawaka, Indiana left this world due to natural causes on May 19th, 2012.

Grady was one of ten children born to the late Marion and Mary (Hubbard) White in the rural area of waterloo, Alabama on April 10th, 1931.

Grady's brothers, Luke and Bart preceded him in death, along with sisters Viola, Ora Mae, Elvira and Marcella.

Surviving siblings are Ruria Dennis of Florence, AL., M.W. White of Macon, GA., and Novella Bailey of Mobile, AL

Grady married his loving wife, Mable Ezekiel, after having grown up together in the same town and having come from the same country background. On September 16th, 1950 in Corinth, Mississippi they wed and shared a life together for more than 53 years. Mable preceded Grady in death on January 17, 2004.

Grady and Mable made Indiana their home after moving here from Alabama in 1951. They resided in Osceola and Mishawaka until their deaths.

Grady devoted his life to hard work and the care of his family which includes four sons; Larry (Patti) of Mishawaka, Grady Jr., (Carol) of Osceola, along with Don and Ron of Mishawaka. Grandchildren include; Jesse (Amy) White, Tracey White, Scott (Sara) White, Junell (Ted) Broskey, Ariel (James) Detwiler and Sylvia (Mike) King, along with Julie Evans and Jason (Katrina) Evans. Great grandchildren include Emma White, William White, Caritlyn White, Braylon White, Brianna White, Max White, Stephanie Broskey, Shelly Broskey, Theo Broskey, Ayden Detwiler, Gavin Detwiler and Justin King along with Ryan Evans, Noah Hurlbut, Jason Evans II, Chris Evans, Rebecca Evans, Jon Dycus, Danae Evans and Aubrie Streeter.

Grady retired in 1992 with over 41 years of service from the former Dodge Divison of Reliance Electric Company: where he belonged to the Dodge Athletic Association and the Dodge Quarter Century Club. Grady was also a proud United Steelworkers member for over 40 years.

Grady enjoyed animals and raised quarter horses on the family farm in Lauderdale County, Alabama, where he spent many fun-filled summer vacations with his family.

Friends may call from 1-3 pm and 5-7pm on Tuesday, May 22nd in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. Internment will be at Fairview Cemetery after the funeral on May 23rd at 11:00 am with the Rev. Erv Mize officiating.

Grady was a southern gentleman who will be remembered and missed by his family and friends known by him throughout his lifetime.
