Esther B. Wensits, 85, of Ironwood Drive, formerly of Taylor Street, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2005, in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wensits worked as a cashier for Weisser's Market. She was a member of the D.F.V. German Club Ladies Auxiliary, St. Mary of the Assumption Church and its Altar & Rosary Society. Esther was born on September 29, 1919, in South Bend, to Peter and Veronica Wroblewski.

 

On June 14, 1941, in St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Taylor Street, she married Emrich Wensits, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Janet M. (Jack) Kary of South Bend; a son, Robert E. (Peggy) Wensits of Cassopolis, MI; six grandchildren, Connie Everts, Kim Stevenson, Jack Kary, Robert J. Wensits Jr., James M. Wensits and Jodie Temple; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alfreda Kraska of South Bend and Loretta Malone of Bowie, MD; and five nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, and by a twin brother, Arthur Wroblewski.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2005, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Ave., where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Visiting Nurses Association, 810 E. Park Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
