Margaret M. Weis, 89, formerly of 10th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend.

Margaret was born on Oct. 20, 1913, in Alions Superior, Wis., as the daughter of the late Benjamin and Pharilda (Van Driesche) Midday.

 

On July 4, 1931, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, as the former Margaret Midday, she married Alfred J. Weis of Mishawaka, who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Alfred E. (Joann) Weis of Hendersonville, N.C., and Richard (Mary) Weis of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Diana Brinkley, Diana Ehresman, Leana Sanders, Sherri Lippencott, William Weis, Kathy Weldy, William Beasley, Faith Beasley, John Beasley and Melanie Beasley.

 

Margaret had been a resident of this area since 1922, coming from Wisconsin. She worked for Dodge Manufacturing for 28 years. She was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a great friend to all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation for all their kindness and the great care they provided for mom.

 

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
