Esther M. Weinkauf, 84, of 609 E. Battell St., died of an illness at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph’s Medical Center, South Bend.
Mrs. Weinkauf was born April, 4, 1905, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident. On July 3, 1924, In Mishawaka, as Esther Henning, she married Lester A. Weinkauf, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Beverly Walerko of Mishawaka; a son, Richard of New York City; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Henning of LaPorte and Pauline Prout of Mount Dora, Fla.
She was a charter member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church and past president of the Rosary Society of the church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Monica’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Warner Funeral Home, Osceola, where a parish rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
