Dumont J. Weinkauf

MISHAWAKA - Dumont J. ''Dewey'' Weinkauf, 82, formerly of St. Lo Street, died at 7:25 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, in Countryside Place, Mishawaka, Ind.

Dewey was born on June 2, 1915, in Moville, Iowa, to August and Ouida Weinkauf, who preceded him in death. He married the former Mary Misner in Mishawaka on Jan. 18, 1941. She died on Jan. 18, 1987. He was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Eleanor Chicci; a brother, August Weinkauf; and by a sister, Anna Mae Maggert

Dewey is survived by two stepdaughters, Dorothy Deitchley and Peggy Melkey, both of Mishawaka; several nieces and nephews; and by a sister, Mary Teresa Milios of Washington state.

Dewey retired from Dodge Manufacturing after 43 years of service, and belonged to the Quarter Century Athletic Club.

Friends called from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where a funeral procession was formed.

The funeral Mass was in St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, with Father Robert Yast officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
