MISHAWAKA - Catherine M. Weinkauf, 89, of Mishawaka,
passed away on Friday, September 12, 2008, at the Hospice House
in South Bend. Catherine was born on September 26, 1918, in South
Bend, to the late Henry J. and Catherine (Von Amersfort) Heintzberger.
As the former Catherine Heintzberger, she married Elmer E.
Weinkauf on February 15, 1939, in Mishawaka. Elmer passed away on
January 9, 1983. Elmer and Catherine were blessed with three
children. The surviving children are Ruth (Roman) Sims of
Mishawaka, IN., Richard F. (Barbara) Weinkauf of Summit,
Mississippi and Edward E. (Nancy) Weinkauf of Niles, Michigan.
Catherine was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother to seven
grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one step
great-grandson. Also surviving Catherine are three brothers,
William Heintzberger of Las Vegas, Nevada, Charles (Dorothy)
Heintzberger of Bremen, IN and Gerald Heintzberger of Palm
Springs, CA. Preceding Catherine in death are two brothers,
Henry, Herman Heintzberger; and one sister, Alberta Hambley.
Catherine was a devoted, caring mother and housewife. Catherine
was an avid card player who enjoyed playing Bridge. Catherine was
also a member of St. Monica Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2008, with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., with visitation one hour prior on Tuesday September 16 at St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka Ave., with Fr. Jeffery Largent officiating. Burial is to follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Mishawaka. The family requested that memorial contributions could be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN. 46637
