ZELPHA L. WEBER

 

24 April, 1908 - 24 April 2001

 

    Zelpha Louise Weber, born on April 24, 1908 to Ben and Cora Scott in Culver, Ind., was called home by the Lord on her 93rd birthday, April 2001.

 

    On Jan. 30, 1926, in Mishawaka, Ind., she married Philip Weber, who survives.  She is also survived by her sister, Helen Marie Coplen of South Bend, Ind.; and her sister-in-law, June Scott of Orlando, Fla.  Her 103 descendents include her seven children, Phyllis (Owen) Barrett, Irma (Robert) Fox, Donald (Linda) Weber and John (Melanie) Weber of Mishawaka, Donna (Thomas) Freeze of Granger, Ind., Marilyn (Richard) Wilson of South Bend and Margaret (Lawrence) Struss of Lakeville, Ind.  Also surviving are 32 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, Dick and Virginia Taylor of Raleigh, N.C., and their children, and Joanne Weber.

 

    Zelpha was preceded in death by her sister Autumn Stults of Fremont, Mich., and her brother Benjamin Scott of Elkhart, Ind.

 

    Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th Street, Mishawaka.

 

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 27, in St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, 320 East 4th Street, Mishawaka, with one hour visitation prior to the service in the church.

 

    Zelpha was a member of St. Andrew's United Church of Christ.  Her legacy to her family and friends is her generous and loving spirit, rooted in her faith in God.

 

    Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, 320 E. 4th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544; or to Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County, 402 East South Street, South Bend, IN 46601.
