IRMA G. UECKER June 19, 1912 - Dec. 7, 2008 MISHAWAKA - Irma G. Uecker, 96, of Mishawaka, IN, formerly of River Park, passed away at 10:10 AM Sunday, December 7th, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

Mrs. Uecker retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. after 23 years of service. She was born on June 19, 1912, to Jay Walter and L. Grace (Meek) Jones in South Bend, IN, living most of her life here and in Plymouth. On June 29, 1946, in South Bend, IN, she married Edward F. Uecker, who preceded her in death on March 29, 1998. Mrs. Uecker is survived by a sister, Ruth Butler of South Bend; two nieces, Carol Carter of South Bend and Elaine Stearly of Mishawaka; and two nephews, John Butler of South Bend and Gary Butler of Nashville, TN. Many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews also survive. One infant sister, Velma Grace Jones, one brother, Paul L. Jones, and two nephews, Arthur E. Jones and Phillip W. Jones, all preceded her in death.

Mrs. Uecker graduated in 1930 from Plymouth High School. She attended Gospel Center Missionary Church. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday in Gospel Center Missionary Church, 930 S. 30th Street, South Bend. Pastor Chuck Husted will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM Thursday in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Gospel Center Missionary Church.
