Mary K. Tschida (July 2, 1897- Nov. 27, 1990).
SOUTH BEND - Services for Mary K. Tschida, 93, formerly of 1401 W. Indiana Ave., who died at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday in Healthwin Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Zahoran Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Tschida was born July 2, 1897, in Appelon <Apetlon>, Austria and lived in South Bend for 69 (?blurred) years, coming from Austria. On April 12, 1921, in South Bend, as Mary K. Steinhofer, she married John A. Tschida. He died April 4, 1966. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret M. Wartha and Dorothy K. Van Paris; three sons, William J. and Arthur M., both of South Bend, and George L. of La Porte; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Daughters of Isabella and honorary member of the Alter and Rosary Society of the church.
