Donald J. Truax, 83, of Newburg Drive, died
at 5:50 a.m. today in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, South
Bend. Mr. Truax retired as a printer from Stone Container
Co. He was born Sept. 16, 1909, in South Bend, and was a lifelong
area resident. In 1930, he married Helen K. Ference.
She died in 1973. On Jan. 31, 1976, he married Beverly M. Klopfenstein
Powell. She survives with a son, Wesley G.
of South Bend; a stepdaughter, Beverly Jo Brown
of Mantino, Ill., a stepson, Cloid Ference of Kankakee, Ill.;
four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and a
brother, Thomas of South Bend.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in
Hahn-DeVos Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill
Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and
6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
